Modernize - Home Living Room Refresh
A couple reached out to RaymondCraft with a vision to customize their formal living room by adding three custom elements and modifying one existing piece. They wanted the room to feel more “up north” and cozy, but didn’t like the look of pine. They needed help bringing their vision to life.
First we conducted a site visit, to understand the request and to take measurements. We followed up with a few rounds of questions and answers back and forth, before finalizing an estimate.
Modify Existing:
Remove the tile on the fireplace hearth onsite.
Build a custom wood hearth to match the existing fireplace surround. Dry fit to ensure the new piece fit.
Custom match the finish and trim to blend with the existing woodwork.
Install new surround piece.
Build New:
Collaboratively select wood species, hardware, and finish. Confirmed specs with hand sketches and measurements.
Build four floating shelves, made out of rustic hickory planks and black metal pipe fittings.
Create a desk area for their grandchildren with a rolling toy box that can tuck under the desk when not in use.
Fabricate a TV stand with live edge eastern red cedar and black metal pipe fittings to match the shelving.
Install shelving, desk and TV stand.
